Nolo: Curating the Body is a cross-cultural project between London, UK and Montreal, Quebec. It enquires into the scope of the word ‘curation’ and the implication this could have in the context of the body and choreography- the politics of curating the body.
Six dance artists were invited to contribute to a new work by sharing their perspectives on 'curating the body'. The research became how to develop a solo piece of performance where all six ideas could exist within one autonomous person. Dealing with ethics surrounding authorship within the dancer/choreographer dynamic, methods of collaboration, love and pleasure, the emotional labour of delivering/ performing.
